OpenRouter
Set up the OpenRouter connector in AccessLayer.
OpenRouter provides a unified API for routing requests across many AI model providers.
In AccessLayer, the OpenRouter connector lets you query model, provider, key, and usage metadata so you can analyze model availability and API usage trends.
Before you start
You will need an OpenRouter Management API key.
Before you begin, make sure you have:
- An OpenRouter Management API key
For additional details, see the OpenRouter authentication documentation.
Management key required
Use a Management API key, not a normal inference API key. The connector needs the management key for administrative and metadata endpoints.
Generating your credentials
Open your key settings
In OpenRouter, go to Settings -> Keys.
Create a Management API key
Create a new Management API key and copy it for use in AccessLayer.
Included collections
- Activity
- Embedding Models
- Models
- User Models
- Providers
- ZDR Endpoints
- Keys
- Guardrail Key Assignments
- Guardrail Member Assignments
Troubleshooting
Confirm that you entered a Management API key rather than a regular inference key.
Check whether the Management API key was rotated, revoked, or deleted. If it changed, create a new key and update the connector configuration in AccessLayer.
Verify that the key still has access to the administrative resources you expect to query.
