Cloudflare
Set up the Cloudflare connector in AccessLayer.
Cloudflare is a platform for DNS, CDN, security, performance, and edge services. Teams use it to manage websites, applications, domains, and traffic across their infrastructure.
In AccessLayer, the Cloudflare connector lets you query Cloudflare account data in one place for reporting and operational analysis. You can use it to inspect resources across your Cloudflare account, track configuration and inventory, and build dashboards or internal reports on top of that data.
Before you start
You will need a Cloudflare API token to use this data source. This token lets AccessLayer read data from your Cloudflare account based on the permissions and resources you allow.
Before you begin, make sure you have:
- A Cloudflare API token
- Your Cloudflare account ID
For additional details, see the Cloudflare API token documentation.
Recommended token template
Use the Read all resources template unless you have a specific reason to restrict the token further. It is the recommended starting point for the AccessLayer connector.
Generating a token
Create a token
Go to dash.cloudflare.com/profile/api-tokens and sign in if required, then select Create Token.
Choose the recommended template
Select Use Template next to Read all resources.
Review, create, and copy the token
Give the token a useful name such as AccessLayer Data Source. If needed, you
can restrict access under Zone Resources. Select Continue to summary,
then Create token, and copy the generated token.
Find your account ID
In the Cloudflare dashboard, go to Account home and locate the account you want to connect in AccessLayer. Open the menu button next to that account and select Copy account ID.
For more detail, see the official Cloudflare guide to copying your account ID.
Troubleshooting
Confirm that your API token was created with the Read all resources template, or with equivalent permissions.
Check whether the API token has been deleted, rotated, had its permissions changed, or expired. If any of those changed, generate a new token and update the connector configuration in AccessLayer.
If you restricted the token to specific zones or resources, make sure those restrictions still allow access to the data you want to query.
